 Port of Anacortes Board of Commissioners votes to terminate Executive Director Dan Worra without cause

ANACORTES, WA – The Port of Anacortes Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 today to terminate Executive Director Dan Worra without cause.

“The Port is moving in a different direction,” said Commission President Bonnie Bowers.

Worra’s employment contract states that the Port may terminate his employment at any time, without cause, and for any reason or no reason, by giving written notice of the termination.

Worra has served as the Port’s Executive Director since 2015. He has been on paid administrative leave since Oct. 19, 2023.

The Port of Anacortes was formed in 1926 to promote economic development for Anacortes and the surrounding area. The Port district is led by a board of five elected commissioners: Bonnie Bowers, Jon Petrich, Kathy Pittis, Jon Ronngren, and Shawn Ottenbreit.
