Get to Know Ora Navarro

Meet Ora Navarro, the Port’s newest Marina Support Specialist, hired in October of 2025. Ora values the Port’s dedication to supporting local commercial fishermen and protecting our environment. When she’s not greeting visitors and hearing their fascinating stories, you’ll find her exploring everything Anacortes has to offer – from beaches to forest trails – or heading home to be greeted by Bob, her pet peacock.

Role: Marina Support Specialist  

What about the Port’s mission is most important to you?  

Our dedication to supporting our local commercial fishermen, and our commitment to being proactive with environmental protection. 

What is the most exciting part of your career here at the Port of Anacortes?  

Meeting everyone that comes into the Harbor Office. People have been so kind to me, and the stories that people have shared have been fascinating. Hearing about their travels and exciting moments in their lives has been so impactful. 

What is your favorite thing about Anacortes?  

We have it all here! Beaches, forest lands, lakes, good eats, and a great community. 

What is the one thing about you that would surprise people?  

I have a pet Peacock named Bob who runs to the car and greets me when I get home.

What never fails to make you laugh?  

My kiddos. 

What are a few of your hobbies?  

Drawing, hiking, rock hounding, and baking. 

What motivates you to work hard?  

The drive to learn more and be the best I can be.
