We’d like to thank Commissioner Goodwin for his dedication to the Port staff and community. His strong commitment was demonstrated through various positions during his time with the commission, including serving as Secretary in 2018, Vice President in 2019, and President in 2020. Additionally, he served as a delegate on many committees and organizations to include the Skagit Council of Governments (SCOG), the Regional Transportation Planning Organization of SCOG, the Washington Public Ports Association (WPPA) Delegation and WPPA Legislative Committee, the Port’s N&W Basin Redevelopment Advisory Group, and the Port / City Liaison Committee.
With the leadership of Commissioner Goodwin, the Port has seen significant growth and development and is poised to continue the upward momentum in the coming years. Commissioner Goodwin has always been mindful of the needs of the community, the maritime and aviation industries, the environment, as well as economic development. His focus on governance, transparency, and stewardship of public resources contributed to the Port earning the State Auditor’s Stewardship Award in 2021.
We’d like to thank Commissioner Ken Goodwin for his faithful service during his time with the commission and best of luck with all that is ahead of him! We will always consider him a part of our Port of Anacortes family.
