Temporary Operations Assistant

The Port of Anacortes is accepting applications for temporary summer operations assistants. Applications may be picked up and returned to the Port of Anacortes main office, 1st and Commercial Avenue Anacortes.

Completed applications must be received at the main office no later than 5:00 pm, May 15, 2008.

Summer operations staff is responsible for mowing and trimming, brush removal, landscape work, painting, refinishing, general cleanup, other light maintenance tasks, and operation of the trailer boat launch and fuel float as needed.

Employment is required from June through mid-September. Positions are scheduled for 40 hour work weeks, some overtime may be required. The wage is $11-$15 per hour, depending on experience.  Successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Job requirements:

• Must have High School diploma or GED
  
• Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license
  
• Must be able to perform prolonged strenuous physical activity in a variety of outdoor environments
